Radcliffe Institute launches public art competition for Harvard students

The Radcliffe Institute, Harvard’s institute for advanced study, today announces the launch of its first public art competition, to be held annually and dedicated to giving Harvard students the opportunity to create new art for the community. The winning student or team of students will receive a $5,000 prize and funding for construction of a public art installation in a prominent new garden space on Brattle Street at the Radcliffe Institute.

“The Radcliffe Institute Public Art Competition offers students a unique opportunity to design and create an outdoor installation in a highly visible public space while contributing to the enrichment of intellectual and aesthetic life at Harvard,” says Radcliffe Institute Dean Lizabeth Cohen.

The competition is open to all students enrolled in a Harvard degree program. Simple registration is due by November 30, 2012, and final submissions are due on January 30, 2013.
